Writing...

- Final version.

I don't know why, but when I write in English I can just think at a common theme, maybe due to my poor vocabulary or another unknown reason, but here I will try to produce something interesting (but I promisse nothing!).
So, the winner is: the act of writing. At first, I created this blog intending to post (every single day) something written by me and because I think that the best way to improve our writing skills is to write, to produce! Yes, it would be so obvious, but it's not! Too many people try to improve their skills by reading theory and of course, most of them will not achieve their goals. I don't deny the importance of reading, but it's like trying to learn to make love only by reading about sex. Sorry for the analogy. The essay begins with caress, is getting hotter and then... we create! Sorry again. That's true we should plan, cogitate, hesitate, but one day, we have to write down our thoughts. It's not so easy, I confess. I'm here, in front of my PC for more than 30 minutes and that's what I got! I'm going to try to write a little bit more after this short paragraph. I hope you like it!

PresqueFrançais disse...

So, people, I was talking to Marcelo and...:

Marcelo: OI, Igor.
Vou ler seu texto agora.
1. promisse e não 'promess'
2. "the most of them..." tire o artigo def.
3. "I don't mind the importance of reading" tire o pronome "it".

Marcelo: 4. "but it's like trying to learn to make love only reading about sex." acrescente 'by' = only by reading.

Marcelo: 5. "Sorry again." Tire isso, cara. Um autor não pede desculpas. Já pensou se o Nelson Rodrigues tivesse pedido desculpas toda vez que dissesse algo pornográfico?
me: opa!
põe lá nos comentários!
Marcelo: 6. De resto tudo certo. Ortografia, sintaxe...
7. O texto está bom, Igor, parabéns.
Sent at 1:46 AM on Thursday
me: ou vc prefere q eu coloque?
Marcelo: 8. Não muito informativo... mas, não importa: estou considerando o seu mérito como autor de um texto em língua estrangeira, não o seu mérito literário.
Prefiro que coloque, se não se importa.
me: é verdade...
não tá mto informativo
mas vou escrever algo mais sobre
ainda em inglês
(ou pelo menos tentar)
